The Firefighter of the year award and the memorial service were well attended as well. There was a parade last evening with the Lowville Fire Dept. receiving 1st place for Class A and Croghan receiving 1st place for Class B. The Norwood Brass Firemen provided a "mini" concert on the pad followed with by the Nelson Brothers.... (Full Story)

NNYVFA is looking to make a directory of fire chaplains in our 10 county sectional

The counties in our sectional are Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida, Oswego and St. Lawrence. If your department has a chaplain, could you please email the name, address, email and phone to NNYVFA@gmail.com. It is with sadness that I announce the passing of Canon Sam Lundy of the Copenhagen Fire Department

Sam had served as our NNYVFA chaplain for many years after the passing of Fr. Hugh Connaghan. Sam served as chairman of our chaplain's committee and always made sure that we had a memorable service at our annual convention. May you rest in peace.... (Full Story)

Members of NNYVFA will meet on Monday, April 27th at the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home to attend the wake of Debbie Finnegan, wife of Joe Finnegan, past president of NNYVFA and FASNY

Is there a fire chaplain in your department that would be interested in joining our memorial/chaplains committee

There is a need to build our committee and we could use some help. Our committee annually does a memorial service for members who have passed. The memorial service is held at the annual convention. This year, the convention is in New Bremen on Saturday, June 6th. The memorial service will be at the First Mennonite Church on Rt# 812 and will begin shortly after the firefighter of the year award ... (Full Story)
